*Regarding the public housing with vacancies that are not filled through the regular application, from the day after the lottery until the vacancies are filled, service will be provided on a first-come first- served basis until the first Wednesday of the month after the month to which the lottery is completed. The deadline for this supplementary registration is January 31.

トピック展「昔の道具を考える」を開催します

There will be an exhibition of tools used in daily life that changed after the entry of culture and materials brought from Europe to Japan at the beginning of the Meiji Era in 1868.

  1. Period: January 4, 2022 (Tuesday) until February 13 (Sunday), closed every Monday. If Monday is a public holiday, the museum will close the next day.
  2. Opening hours: 9 am to 5 pm (entry will be allowed until 30 minutes before closing time)
  3. Location: Mie General Museum (MieMu) 3F Special Exhibition Hall (Kikaku Tenji-shitsu)
  4. Entrance fee: Adults: ¥520, Students: ¥310, High school students and younger: Free

Related events: Entry to events 1 and 2 below will be free.

  1. Mini-lecture and presentation on how to use the tools
  • Content: Museum curators will explain the main points of the exhibition and how to use tools that are now considered as rare.
  • Date: January 10 (Monday) to February 11, 2022 (Friday), from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm
  • Location Classroom (lecture room) on the third floor
  • Maximum capacity: 54 people daily (booking on site will be in order of arrival)
  1. Let’s make clear soaps to get rid of the coronavirus! (pre-registration required)
  • Contents: Learn the secrets of how to make soap effective in fighting infections.
  • Date: February 13, 2022 (Sunday), from 10 am, 11 am, 1 pm and 2 pm (each session will last approximately 1 hour)
  • Location: Experiment room (jisshu-shitsu) on the second floor
  • Maximum capacity: 24 people each session
  • How to register: Complete the online application or send a letter by January 23, 2022 (Sunday)
