Free Rubella Antibody Test and Vaccination


According to the National Institute of Infectious Diseases, the number of cases with measles increased from 91 in 2017 to 2,917 in 2018, and 1,377 were reported at the end of April 2019, patients with measles infection are increasing in 2019 and the epidemic still continues.

  1. Additional measures for Rubella

From 2019 to 2021 for 3 years, antibody test and vaccination for rubella will be offered for free to men born between April 2nd, 1962 and April 1st, 1979, who never had a rubella routine vaccination before.

The target for 2019 are men born between April 2, 1972 and April 1, 1979. Coupons will be sent from the municipal office. Men aside from the target generations can also get coupons at the municipal office counter.

Rubella antibody testing for women who plans to get pregnant will be conducted in Mie Prefecture from May 7, 2019 to February 28, 2020.
