Automobile Tax Payment Deadline 2019

2019年・自動車税は納期限までに納めましょう

This year’s deadline for the automobile tax payment is on May 31 (Friday).

Every citizen owning a vehicle must pay this tax once a year. And the money collected is used for education, improving health and welfare services, transportation infrastructure maintenance, unemployment benefits, disaster prevention measures and many other important government initiatives.

Every owner of a vehicle has already received an envelope containing a picture of a red car.

Automobile Tax Payments can be made through the bank and also through others facilities including convenience stores.  You can also use a credit card to pay for your tax (over the internet).

If the deadline expires, a “late payment fee” will be charged along with the automobile tax.

And for those who do not pay even after receiving the late payment notice, a penalty determined by the law will be applied, and material assets may be seized such as vehicles, salary, among others.

Please be sure to pay the tax before the deadline, May 31st (Friday).

Guidance for “Japanese for Work” Course (Free Japanese language course)

定住外国人向けしごとのための日本語（無料の日本語学習コース）のご案内

The Japan International Cooperation Center (JICE) will carry out Practical Japanese Useful for Work 2019 Training Course for Promoting Stable Employment of Foreign Residents from the end of May 2019.

This course is the beginner’s course (Level 1). The contents of the course are for those who are studying Japanese for the first time, those who can not speak Japanese, and for those who can not read and write hiragana and katakana. Applications can be made at the nearest Hello Work.

Eligible Person

  • Those who aim for stable employment
  • Those who are 16 years of age or older whose status of residence is “Spouse of Japanese, etc.”, “Permanent Resident”, “Spouse of Permanent Resident, etc.” and “Long Term Resident”

※The opening of the course may be canceled if the class have few applicants.
※ The class level is planned and may be subject to change.
