In Mie Prefecture every year on Health and Sports Day a sports facility is open, free of charge, for visitors closely feel the sports world.

An enjoyable event for children and adults will be held all the day long in addition to activities to try sports, trivia games, open-air market, among other activities and sale of meals and confectioneries.

Mie Multicultural Awareness Event + Iga International Exchange Festa 2017

三重県多文化共生啓発イベント+伊賀市国際交流フェスタ2017

Mie Prefecture works for the “Development  of a multicultural society”, aiming to receive  the cultural differences of citizens from several nationalities, ethnical groups, among others and on the mutual structuring  of a community based on equal relations. As part of it, Mie Multicultural Awareness Event will take place.

This year the event will take place along with Iga International Exchange Festa 2017 and they expect many foreign attendees. Enjoy this opportunity to learn the culture and the foreigners’ countries and share experiences. Invite your friends and join the event. * Free entrance!

 Description:

Stands for multicultural experiences:

Trying out traditional dress  from the world (Distribution: JICA)

Experiencing musical instruments and garments from Peru (Distribution: Mie International Exchange Foundation)

Unicef activities presentation (Distribution: Mie Unicef Association)

Games based on the home countries of foreigners living  in Mie Prefecture

Survey on Multicultural Awareness: gather the stamps and join it

Giant Piñata arrival at the stage:

Piñata is a giant ornamented paper ball doll filled with candies and toys used in festivals (such as birthdays) for children from countries in the Central and South America. The entertainment begins when the Piñata is struck and broken.

International Exchange Stage:

Hawaiian dance, Eisa, country dance, Belly dance, Mariñera, Bon Odori. Attendees can also  join the traditional dances!

Stands Village for International Exchange:

It will be possible to buy products and handmade items from Brazil, Peru, Thailand, Philippines, China, Japan, among others.
