This notice is directed to people who received the request for address update sent by Japan Pension Service.

People who receive the request should fill out the form as in the model, using a pen with black or blue ink, and use the addressed envelope to send the form. It is not necessary to stamp the envelope.

In the case you are not able to fill out the form by yourself, ask someone who can understand Japanese to help you.

By proceeding this update, after My Number system come into effect (*), it will be easier to carry out the registration and claim in Japan Pension Service.

Those who are hired by companies, the address update should be done by their own, otherwise, the Japan Pension Service will contact the employer requesting information on the employee’s current address.

(*) My Number system will come into effect to ease up the information control of the citizens regarding taxes, social welfare benefits and, if a natural disaster occurs, the government will provide the necessary assistance.

Each citizen will receive a register number that will be released on October 2015, and the system will be activated from January 2016.
