Private Interpreter Recruitment Notice

The Mie Prefectural Police Force is currently recruiting interpreters to assist with cases involving non-Japanese by facilitating communication between officers and foreign interviewees.

【Desired Candidate Qualifications】

  • image002A Japanese citizen with a high level of foreign language ability, or a non-Japanese resident with a high level of Japanese language ability, who is willing to assist the police in their work.
  • A resident of Mie Prefecture or someone who can travel to Mie at short notice from nearby.
  • A candidate who has time to respond to requests for interpretation at different times of day, and who is able to interpret for long periods of time (for example, from lunchtime to the middle of the night).

【Required Languages】

We are currently searching for interpreters who can assist us with the following languages:

  • Vietnamese
  • Tagalog
  • Sinhala

【Duties】

Translation and interpretation assistance for the police force.

【Recruitment Process】

Candidates will be selected via interview.

【Remuneration】

The police force headquarters will pay travel expenses and a remuneration fee to interpreters for their work.
