Data on the non-Japanese resident population collected during and prior to 2011 were based on information obtained through the alien registration system (abolished and replaced by the resident system in 2012) As of the end of the 2014 calendar year, the number of non-Japanese residents in Mie was 41,251 people (increase of 30 people or 0.1%).
