The Mie Prefectural Museum will hold a special exhibition on dolphins and whales: “Atsumare! Mie no Kujira to Iruka-tachi (集まれ!三重のクジラとイルカたち)”.
Since a long time ago, Mie has been a region with a deep relationship with the sea. Many whales live and migrate to the seas of Mie. This is a special exhibition where you can learn about Mie’s whales and dolphins, as well as fishing techniques and sea-related festivals.
- Period: July 2 (Saturday) to November 11 (Sunday) 2022
*Closed every Monday except July 18th and July 19th (Tuesday)
- Exhibition hours: from 9 am to 5 pm (entry allowed until 4:30 pm)
- Location: Mie General Museum (MieMu) 3rd Floor Exhibition Hall, Tsu-shi Isshinden Kozubeta 3060

- Whale exhibit admission only: Adults – 800 yen, Students above high school – ¥480, Students below high school – Free
- Whale Exhibition + Regular Admission: Adults – ¥1,050, Students above high school – ¥630, Students below high school – Free

- First Chapter: Ise Bay that nurtures a lot of snails (Takusan no Sunameri wo Hagukumu Isewan – たくさんのスナメリを育む伊勢湾)
- Second Chapter: The Whales Arriving at Kumano-nada (Kumano-nada ni Yattekuru Kujiratachi – 熊野灘にやってくるクジラたち)
- Third chapter: The relationship between whales and humans (Kujira to hitobito no Kakawari)
