MieMu: “Mie’s Whales and Dolphins”

The Mie Prefectural Museum will hold a special exhibition on dolphins and whales: “Atsumare!  Mie no Kujira to Iruka-tachi (集まれ！三重のクジラとイルカたち)”.

Since a long time ago, Mie has been a region with a deep relationship with the sea.  Many whales live and migrate to the seas of Mie.  This is a special exhibition where you can learn about Mie’s whales and dolphins, as well as fishing techniques and sea-related festivals.

  1. Period: July 2 (Saturday) to November 11 (Sunday) 2022

*Closed every Monday except July 18th and July 19th (Tuesday)

  1. Exhibition hours: from 9 am to 5 pm (entry allowed until 4:30 pm)
  2. Location: Mie General Museum (MieMu) 3rd Floor Exhibition Hall, Tsu-shi Isshinden Kozubeta 3060
  3. Entrance fee:
    1. Whale exhibit admission only: Adults – 800 yen, Students above high school – ¥480, Students below high school – Free
    2. Whale Exhibition + Regular Admission: Adults – ¥1,050, Students above high school – ¥630, Students below high school – Free
  4. Exhibition contents
  • First Chapter: Ise Bay that nurtures a lot of snails (Takusan no Sunameri wo Hagukumu Isewan – たくさんのスナメリを育む伊勢湾)
  • Second Chapter: The Whales Arriving at Kumano-nada (Kumano-nada ni Yattekuru Kujiratachi – 熊野灘にやってくるクジラたち)
  • Third chapter: The relationship between whales and humans (Kujira to hitobito no Kakawari)

2022 Travel Discount “Mie-toku Travel Coupon” 3rd Edition

旅行割引「みえ得トラベルクーポン」２０２２年第３弾を実施します

The 2022 third edition of the “Mie-toku Travel Coupon” will be held, discounting the value of travel within Mie Prefecture.  In this third edition, the discount amount for weekday bookings has increased by 1,000 yen, and the number of valid prefectures has also increased.

To use the coupon this time, it will be necessary to present the “vaccination history (3rd dose)” or a “negative coronavirus test result” valid on the day of departure.

If the coronavirus situation in Mie Prefecture worsens, a limit on the use of coupons, or even cancellation / postponement of services related to the coupon may be imposed.

  1. Period of use

June 1 (Wednesday) to June 30, 2022 (Thursday)

Valid for checkouts made until July 1st (Friday)
