Request for Change of Address Procedure regarding Automobile Tax

Automobile Tax is from prefecture, which falls upon the vehicle owner, annually on April 1st.

The notification for Automobile Tax Payment is sent to the address registered on the Vehicle Inspection Certificate (shakensho), annually, on early May. For example, even in the case of transfer or undo the vehicle (haisha), if the transfer registration or elimination (massho) have not been made at the Transport branch office during the month of March, please, have in mind that from May the previous owner will receive the notification for tax collection.

Furthermore, from now, in the case of change of address due to graduation, new job or change of city, please, carry out the procedure of changing the address registered on the Vehicle Inspection Certificate at the Transport branch office, without fail.

It is important to know that there is the need to carry out the number changing (of license plates) to the one of Mie Prefecture, in the case of moving from another prefecture to Mie. Therefore, please, make the procedure.
