Contact Procedures Following The Event Of A Disaster

2011/09/30 Friday Disaster Preparedness

When large scale disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoons or floods caused by heavy rain occur, it can be difficult to reach others by telephone due to the large volume of people trying to confirm the safety of friends and relatives in the affected areas. Telephone and internet services may also be interrupted due to blackouts and damage to phone lines.

Therefore, it is important to discuss with your loved ones beforehand how you will contact one another and where you will meet if you cannot contact one another after a disaster.
