[Tsu] M-Sai 2014 – Kids Art Festival

At the Kids Art Festival, visitors can hear concerts, try their hand at conducting, play various instruments, create crafts and drawings, and learn dances with help from actual artists. Come to the Mie Center for the Arts and make some summer memories through art!

 Mie Junior Orchestra Concert

TimePerformance begins: 11:00, Performance ends: 12:30 (Doors open at 10:30)

LocationMedium Hall

Seating 780 people

Target audienceAll are welcome!

DetailsA concert by Mie’s only all youth orchestra, the Mie Junior Orchestra. Audience members* will have an opportunity to try playing various instruments after the performance (participating audience members will be chosen on a first come first serve basis and given numbered tickets upon entering the venue).

*Only children of elementary school age or younger

 

Dance World: Everyone Gather ‘Round!

Time【First session】10:30~  【Second session】14:00~

LocationMultipurpose hall

Target audienceAll are welcome!

DetailsThis was a big hit last year! Children and professional dancers come together for a creative dance performance.

 

The “Try it Out” Corner

Target audienceKindergarten and elementary school age children (young children should be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

 

Create your own mini flag!

Time10:00~16:00(New participants will be admitted until 15:30)

DetailsWrite your name and decorate your own mini standard flag! Cute illustrations of things like haniwa sculptures are also available!

 

Make ‘em and fling ‘em: Paper Plate Launchers

Time10:00~12:00(New participants will be admitted until11:30)

13:00~16:00(New participants will be admitted until15:30)

DetailsBuild a launcher and let some paper plates fly! You can also decorate the paper plates that you launch!

 

Create butterflies that sway in the wind

Time10:00~12:00、13:00~16:00

DetailsMounting cutouts of butterflies on pipe cleaners allows them to sway mysteriously in the breeze.

 

Create a princess fan!

Time10:00~12:00(New participants will be admitted until11:40)

13:00~16:00(New participants will be admitted until15:40)

Details “Hiouki” are fans that were used by the court ladies of the Heian Period. At this workshop, you can make your own original Hiouki with some sturdy paper.
