The Mie Elephant measures 8 meters in length and 4 meters in height. The Mie Elephant lived throughout the Japanese islands about 4.3 million to 3 million years ago. This is Japan’s first ever showcase of the complete reconstructed fossil skeleton of a Mie Elephant at MieMu. Explore the life of the Mie Elephant, its evolution and how it was discovered at MieMu! Related Events – Kids’ Fossil Dig Adventure Date : Saturday August 23rd Sunday September 14th Monday September 15th (Public Holiday) Time: 10:00am – 11:30am Number of Participants: 30 children at a time Required Clothing: Long sleeves, long pants, a hat and gloves Note *Those who wish to participate must receive a numbered ticket which will be available from 9:00am.
