Regarding patrolling by police during Ise Shima Summit

2016/03/25 Friday Seminars and Events

伊勢志摩サミット警備について

summit mie police

Ise Shima Summit will be held within 2 months, on May 26- 27th. Mie Prefectural Police has been boosting all the security efforts since last year. But, due to the incresead number of terrorist attacks taking place abroad and anticipating a situation in which the same may occur in Japan, in order to ensure “the security of the leaders from each country”, “the smooth performance of the relevant events”, “the security and the Mie citizen’s peace”, as well as the achievement of this summit, Mie Prefectural Police is striving to carry out anti-terrorism measures.

In October 2015 Mie’s central police carried out a “conference to promote the anti-terrorism partnership in Mie”, as well as in late January of 2016 an “action against regional terrorism”, with the collaboration of all citizens from public and private sectors.

Therefore, we request the collaboration of all citizens to call 110 and report incidents as “suspicious people in public places”, “strange vehicles parked in the same location for several hours”, “suspicious packages left in public places”, among other unusual occurrences that seem suspicious.

For the surveillance on the summit location, we are planning to set up traffic spots in areas near Kashikojima.

During the countries’ leaders displacement, some roads will be closed for a limited time therefore there will be traffic congestion. We call upon the comprehension and collaboration of everyone regarding the use of public transport, the passenger vehicle restriction and to the control of service vehicles.
