All health centers (hokenjo) in Mie Prefecture offer AIDS consultations and HIV testing.
In addition to HIV testing, you can also be tested for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and syphilis viruses.

- What is HIV and AIDS?
HIV infection does not necessarily mean AIDS.
AIDS is a disease in which the immune system is weakened by HIV infection, and serious illnesses eventually develop.
- What is the current status of HIV and AIDS?
The onset of AIDS symptoms can be prevented through early detection of the infection and initiation and continuation of treatment, thanks to medical advances.
- What type of test is an HIV test?
The test is performed in the following order: reception, pre-test consultation and blood collection (some mls). The result is reported after 1 week.
- When is the HIV test done?
The early stages of HIV infection may not be detected by the test. If you want to be sure if you are infected or not, get tested at least three months after the possible infection.
