(2) Special selection: This is the selection for those who dropped out of senior high school or were not able to enter senior high school on graduation from junior high for any reason whatsoever. 1) Content of the exam: The exam includes one or more of the following: an interview, “a self-expression task” or an essay. (2) Schools, departments and courses which conduct selection of applicants for the special admission quota: Please confirm in the “Implementation Guideline for the Selection of Applicants for Public Senior High Schools in Mie Prefecture (2014)”. (3) Number of special admission quota students: Please see the “Implementation Guideline for the Selection of Applicants for Public Senior High Schools in Mie Prefecture (2014)” (4) Content of the exam: Please see the “Implementation Guideline for the Selection of Applicants for Public Senior High Schools in Mie Prefecture (2014)”. (5) Method of selecting successful applicants: Applicants are selected based on the results of the exam stated in (4) and a “dossier” containing a list of their grades from junior high. (6) Other requirements: Applicants are required to submit a document certifying their nationality and an application form. 4. Selection of foreign students, etc. at part-time night schools At the discretion of the school principal, foreign students who apply for part-time night schools can have the entrance exam in the form of essay or interview in either their native language or Japanese on the second selection, the re-application or an additional application. Female citizens and residents should keep the following in mind. 5 Personal Safety Tips for Women 1 – Avoid walking alone at night →Get a family member to pick you up if you feel unsafe. Be sure that your family is taking any and all measures to ensure that everyone is safe. 2 – Avoid using mobile phones or listening to music while walking →Using mobile phones or listening to music decreases your awareness of your surroundings, and may keep you from noticing suspicious individuals. 3 – Lock car doors, even when you are operating or riding in a car. → This will prevent someone from forcing their way into your car. 4 – Be aware of your surroundings when boarding elevators → Look around you before boarding, and avoid boarding if you and a male that you don’t know will be the only passengers. 5 – Be aware of your surroundings when entering your house. →Look around you before entering, and be sure to lock your entryway door and windows. If you sense danger or see a suspicious looking individual, go immediately to your nearest police station or police box (koban) or dial 110.
