Let’s use some ideas to save on electric power expenditure for heating! Some ideas will be presented. Avoiding heat input and output through the window. Even heating the room, 48% of the hot air spreads through the window. It is recommended to use a thick-fabric curtain, long enough to reach the floor. Fixing a heating blocking wrap (wrap containing air, used to pack fragible products) is also a good idea. When leaving home during the day, keep the curtain closed. It will avoid the hot air to leave and the cold air from outside to get in. Clean the filter regularly When the air conditioning filter is dirty, its efficiency is reduced. There is wasting in the use of electric power. Let’s clean the filter once every two weeks. When the hot air is used there is a 6% reduction on electric power consumption. If there is stuff near the external part of the ar conditioning (outside the house), there will be a reduction in the air conditioning efficiency. External air conditioning must be installed in a airy place, let’s be careful to leave a free space around it. Use a fan or air circulator to control the air direction. Using a fan or air circulator at the same time the environment is heated, it is possible to circulate the hot air that is concentrated in the upper side. Keep the room air in an ideal temperature In the winter, let’s keep a 20 degree temperature to heat the air. If 1 degree is reduced in the air conditioning temperature, there is a reduction of 1% in the electric power consumption. Others If there is a gap between the door and the floor, the wind may come in. Fixing an adhesive tape in this part, it is possible to avoid the cold air to get in. Fixing a heat interception canvas, or a canvas that retains the heat, or a cardboard under the carpet, it is possible to avoid the cold air that comes from the floor to come. The yuntapo (hot-water portable heater) is economic and is recommended when go to sleep. In the other day it is possible to use the warm water to wash the face. The use of kotatsu (a table with a built-in heater and covered with a quilt) or an electric carpet also have a great efficiency. Let’s eat food that warm the body like turnip, carrot and other comestible roots like ginger and garlic. Wear an apparel on top of one another creates a hot air layer between the clothes. Underwear made of insulator material is also efficient. Stretching and light exercises enhance the blood circulation, making the body warmer.
