Partners for the Umashi-Kuni-Okoshi Mie Initiative and other organisations will be showcasing various events and projects that they hold to foster regional development.

“Creating connections” is the key phrase and featured events will be ones that gather participants from within and outside the prefecture to interact and share ideas.

Duration: April 2014 – November 2014

Location: Various locations around Mie.

Some of October’s events are outlined below.

 Mie Forest Festival 2014 in Tsu

 If you love getting closer to nature and exploring the beauties of the forest, this event offers a chance to experience carpentry, observe nature, enjoy woodwork displays and try aroma yoga! A delicious range of foods from Tsu and Mie will also be sold at the Festival. So come and experience, explore and enjoy!

 Date: Saturday, 4th October

 The 10th Meiwa Era Music Festival “Firefly” Charity Concert 2014

Come and enjoy performances by bands and artists singing to their accompaniment. Also don’t miss out on the Taiko drum performances and dances including the Yosakoi!

Date: Sunday, 19th October (in case of rain, the event will be delayed to Sunday, 26th October)

Time: 1pm – 5pm

 The 5th Ninja Tournament 

 This event will take place at the Ninja Training Forest (Ninja Shugyou Mori) at the Akame Shijuhachitaki Waterfall Entrance.

There will be a competition to see who learns the most from their ninja training! The ninja tournament does not simply test the competitors’ fitness, but it tests their skill and in some cases their courage!

Challenge yourself each day to compete in the annual Ninja Tournament!

Date: Sunday, 5th October

Time: 10:00am -3:30pm (registration begins at 9am)
