The Mie Prefectural Art Museum will hold a retrospective exhibition — an exhibition presenting the career of a single artist — dedicated to Albert Marquet (1875–1947), one of the great masters of modern French painting.
This will be the first retrospective of the artist held in Japan in 35 years. The exhibition will feature approximately 100 works, mainly oil paintings, as well as drawings, from museums and private collections in Japan and France.
The exhibition will focus on Marquet’s waterside landscapes, including views of the Seine River in Paris and seas he encountered during his travels, offering visitors a deeper look at the appeal of his work.

2. Exhibition period
From Saturday, August 8, 2026, to Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Some of the works on display will be replaced during the exhibition period.
3. Opening hours
From 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Last admission is at 4:30 p.m.

5. Admission fees
- Adults: ¥1,200 — group rate: ¥1,000
- Students: ¥1,000 — group rate: ¥800
- High school students and younger: free admission
- Prices in parentheses are discounted rates for groups of 20 people or more.
- The admission ticket also includes access to the museum’s permanent collection.
- Students must present a school ID, student ID, or another equivalent form of identification.
- Visitors with a disability certificate, including a digital certificate in an app, and one accompanying person are admitted free of charge.
- On Family Day, August 16, the group discount rate will apply.
