Opening hours: 9:30 to 17:00 (entrance to the gallery is until 16:30) Admission: 500 yen regular admission 400 yen for high school and university students Free for middle school age students and under Mie Prefectural Art Gallery (Tsu City, Otani-cho 11) is ten minutes walk from the west exit of Tsu Station. Mie Prefectural Art Gallery began to build its collection three years before the gallery’s official opening in 1979. In September 2012 the gallery marked its thirtieth anniversary and for its next exhibition will be displaying every piece of its collection between January and March 2013. The gallery continues to build its distinctive collection even today, and its catalogue is currently comprised of over 5,000 individual pieces. In order to display the collection in its entirety, this exhibition has been divided into two parts and will be introduce works of art spanning from the Edo period right up until the present.
