Breast Cancer (Mammography) Examination – Call for participants for this free event
Date: 8th October 2011 (Saturday)
In recent years, Breast Cancer has become the most common cancer for women over the age of 40. One in twenty will contract Breast Cancer. Take the opportunity to catch and treat it early with this free mammogram examination. NOTE: This event will only be in Japanese.
Who can take part: any person who fits the following conditions:
– Women over the age of 40 (those born before March 31st 1972)
– Those who have never had a mammogram examination (an x-ray of the breasts) before
– Those who did not receive a free coupon for 2011 (See note 1)
– Those who agree to register their examination appointment with Mie Prefecture Breast Cancer Examination Network (By registering your results from the exam will be stored)
– Those who have not undergone surgery for breast cancer or breast augmentation in the past
– Those who are not currently pregnant (including those with the possibility of pregnancy) or breastfeeding
– Those who have not had a pace maker fitted

Those who would like to have a free Breast Cancer (mammogram) exam should fill in the application form on the back of this sheet and apply to the Mie Prefecture Breast Cancer Examination Network by Friday 16th September via fax, post or email (mmg@clin.medic.mie-u.ac.jp). Reservations will close if all the places are filled.
The Mie Prefecture Breast Cancer Examination Network is a non-profit organization which was set up in 2005. With its head office in Mie University Hospital, it is made up of 34 medical facilities throughout the prefecture with the aim of promoting greater use of mammogram (breast X–ray) examinations.
