(The schedule of classes for the second semester has been decided.)

If you were unable to complete your studies in junior high school due to various reasons, or if you want to learn again, please feel free to apply.

  1. Period

Second semester: September 6th (Tuesday) to October 24th (Monday), 2022)

  • Tsu classes: Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (excluding holidays), 20 classes in total *excluding holidays
  • Yokkaichi classes: Every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (excluding holidays) 20 classes in total *excluding holidays

From 18:00 to 20:25

Basic learning – From 18:00 to 18:10

First period – From 18:10 to 18:50

2nd period – From 18:55 to 19:35

3rd period – From 19:40 to 20:20

Closing – From 20:20 to 20:25

Yokkaichi class

(Regarding practical subjects, the Tsu venue is technical, and the Yokkaichi venue is art.)

Mie Prefecture Wants to Know Your Opinion about Junior High School Evening Class (Yakan Chuugaku)

夜間中学について皆さんの意見を聞かせてください。

The Mie Education Committee is looking into the possibility of establishing a Junior High School Evening Classes (Yakan Chugaku – 夜間中学)* in the prefecture. The officials are gathering the opinions of as many people as possible through this survey to prepare related documents to analyze whether to set-up a Junior High evening classes. The government asks for everyone’s cooperation.

* Yakan Chugaku is a junior high school where classes are held in the evening hours.

Survey Period

July 15th to September 9th, 2022

People who can join the evening class

Must be 15 years old and:

  • Failed to graduate from primary school (shogakko) and/or high school (chugakko)
  • Foreigners who cannot go to colleges (koko) because they do not have a high school graduation certificate.

About the evening class

  • The monthly fee is free
  • There are classes 5 times a week or every day
  • Class content is the same as in day schools
  • Classes are taught by qualified teachers
  • If the entire curriculum is completed, the student will have graduated from chugakko

Example of class schedules

  • 17:45~ (Orientation)
  • 17:55~ (First period), 40 minutes
  • 18:40~ (Second period), 40 minutes
  • 19:30~ (Third period), 40 minutes
  • 20:15~ (Fourth period), 40 minutes
  • 20:55~ End of class for the day
