Mie Prefecture Minimum Wage

Minimum wage: 737 yen/hour

Effective date: October 19th, 2013

※This minimum wage applies to everyone working in Mie Prefecture

  (Excluding those working in an industry with a designated minimum wage)

[Resident’s Tax Special Provisory Measure] has started from April 2014.

平成26年度4月~「個人住民税の臨時特例措置」について

After the Great East Japan earthquake, a  special provisory measure was passed to ensure emergency funds to local public organizations. During the 10 years from 2014 to 2023, resident’s tax will suffer an increase of 1,000 yen (500 yen for provincial tax + 500 yen for municipal tax).

The increase generated by provisory measure will be spent by local government organizations on projects of prevention / mitigation of natural disasters.

○ Maintenance of prevention facilities against natural disasters

○ Maintenance of the refuge towers against tsunamis

○ Maintenance of dams in rivers

○ Maintenance of roads

○ Increasing bridge resistance against earthquakes, etc..
