Citizen’s Day in Mie 2016 2016年4月16日(土)に「県政140周年記念イベントが開催されます」 Share!FacebookEmailTwitterWhatsApp 2016/04/14 Thursday Seminars and Events 2016 Kenmin no Hi The Citizen’s Day in Mie (Kenmin no Hi) is the commemorative day of Mie Prefecture foundation, on April 18, 1876 (Meiji 9), by joinijng the two ancient prefectures of Annotsu (later named Mie-ken) and Watarai, after the clans’ abolition law and the creation of the prefectures in 1871 (Meiji 4). And, in 1976 (Showa 51), as the centenarian commemoration of the prefecture has established as government, the date of April 18 has been determined as Citizen’s Day in Mie. And, on this April 18, the Citizen’s Day in Mie will celebrate140 years of Mie Prefecture’s foundation. To celebrate this day, a special event will be held on April 16 on the following theme: “Find out since the history to the wonders of Mie! The past, the present and the future of Mie” Commemorative Event on 140 years of Mie Prefecture’s Foundation Date and time: April 16, 2016 (Saturday) from 10:30 a.m to 12 p.m Location: Mie-ken Sogo Hakubutsukan (MieMu) – Lecture Room Address: Tsu-shi, IsshindenKozubeta 3060 Content: To celebrate the 140 years of Mie Prefecture’s foundation and in order to the citizens are able to rediscover the wonders of Mie, after a lecture led by an expert on local history, a discussion panel on sources that bring a mix of tradtition and innovation will be carried out. Topics on the future of the prefecture will be discussed. The vice-president of a global company, as well as the curator of MieMu and students from high school tasked by the future of Mie Prefecture will join this panel. The test assesses whether or not an individual has the knowledge equivalent or higher to that of a senior high school graduate. Individuals can take the test multiple times and combine the best scores from each section to form an overall passing score. This means that individuals taking this test do not need to pass all sections in one sitting to pass the overall tests. Individuals that pass this test are able to take entrance exams for university, junior college and vocational school. Additionally, test takers that pass this test are certified as having knowledge equivalent or higher to a high school graduate, and they may cite this result on resumes and when applying qualifications tests. Registration for this test is open to anyone who will be age 16 or above as of March, 31 2017. Full-time senior high school students may also take this test. Students who have already been accepted at a university may not take this exam.
