Tsunami Advisory Alert (June 8, 2026)

Around 8:38 a.m. on the 8th, a magnitude 8.2 earthquake occurred near the Philippines. The Japan Meteorological Agency has issued a tsunami advisory for the Pacific coastal areas from Okinawa Prefecture to Ibaraki Prefecture.

The expected arrival time of the tsunami is as early as 11:00 a.m. in some areas, and around 12:30 p.m. in the southern part of Mie Prefecture.

Please stay away from the coast and river mouths, and do not go to observe the situation.
