Guidelines for the “Online Safe Space” Program for Fiscal Year 2026

1. Purpose

To provide junior high and high school students who are absent from school with opportunities to connect with others and society, broaden their interests and concerns, and discover their strengths.

2. Implementation Period

From May 13, 2026 (Wednesday) to March 12, 2027 (Friday).

3. Dates and Times

Please check the monthly schedule.

4. Traget Participants

  • Students enrolled in high schools or special needs high school divisions within the prefecture who are absent from school, on leave of absence, or have dropped out.

* Students enrolled in high schools or special needs high school divisions outside the prefecture who are absent from school, on leave of absence, or have dropped out, and who reside within the prefecture.

* Students enrolled in junior high schools or special needs junior high schools within the prefecture who are absent from school.

* Elementary and junior high school students participating at city/town educational support centers.

5. Contents

5.1 Interaction and Experience Activities
Through quizzes and game tournaments, student facilitators interact with participants, and participants also interact with each other. In addition, instructors will be invited for activities such as drawing and calligraphy.

5.2 Interaction in the Metaverse (Virtual Space)
Participants will be able to participate in events or carry out individual activities in the virtual space, such as watching videos and interacting with other people.

5.3 Factory Visits and Social Visits

In cooperation with facilities, companies, and other institutions within and outside the province, participants will be able to participate in programs such as online factory visits and museum tours.

5.4 Cooperation with Education Commissions from Other Provinces

Participants from Mie will be able to participate in projects organized by education commissions from other provinces, and participants from other provinces will be able to participate in projects organized by the Mie Prefectural Education Commission.

6. Important Notes

・Video and audio recording of activities is not permitted.

・During the activities, staff from the Provincial Education Commission will accompany the participants to ensure everyone can participate safely and comfortably.

7. Costs and Equipment

• Applications such as Metaverse, Zoom, Teams, and others will be used to participate.

• The use of the applications is free, but communication expenses are the responsibility of the participant.

• Each participant must download the applications themselves.

• Each participant must also prepare their own equipment.

8. How to register

Register using the method indicated below, providing your name, address, contact information (phone and email), and the school you are currently enrolled in or your previous school. After receiving your registration, you will receive your ID, password, and instructions for participation.
