Covid-19: State of Emergency in Mie (April 19, 2021)

三重県新型コロナウイルス「緊急警戒宣言」(2021年4月19日)

2021/04/21 Wednesday Announcements, Coronavirus

The number of new cases and the seriously ill are increasing in the prefecture.  To ensure an adequate medical infrastructure for those in need, and to protect the lives and health of all citizens of Mie, the Mie government has intensified the “Mie Guidelines ver10” (in Japanese only) and issued the “State of Emergency in Progress for the Coronavirus”(in Japanese only).

The government asks all citizens to comply to the items below, which in general, will be in effect until May 5.

  1. To all the citizens of the prefecture

Social distancing

  • The government asks all citizens of Mie to avoid going to other provinces, except in cases of extreme necessity.
  • For work outside the prefecture, if possible, try to work from home (telework) to avoid exposure during transit.
  • If you are going and returning from other prefecture, avoid going to regions with many covid cases. In relation to the other provinces, take appropriate preventive measures and avoid leaving home if you are feeling ill.
  • Before going to crowded places, such as events and facilities with agglomerations, think about it first, if it is really necessary for you to go.

Preventive Measures

  • Spending longer time when dining out with many people increases the risk of infection. With the exception of family members who live with you, spend just enough time for eating and with a few people as much as possible.  At such times, take appropriate preventive measures and beware of airborne particle infections.
  • If you are not feeling well, avoid going to work or school and other occasions that involve contact with other people, even inside your home, stay in a room separate from the other residents, always wear a mask and take appropriate measures. Schedule an appointment as soon as possible with the nearest medical institution.  If you do not know a doctor or do not know where to consult, call the “medical consultation centers”.
  1. To all citizens of other prefecture
  • The government asks all citizens of Mie to avoid going to other provinces, except in cases of extreme necessity.
  • If you are going and returning from other prefecture, avoid going to regions with many covid cases. In relation to the other provinces, take appropriate preventive measures and avoid leaving home if you are feeling ill.
  1. Respect for human rights

Acts of discrimination, prejudice and violence (ijime) against patients and their families, people from other prefecture who came to Mie for work or study, health care providers and their families, foreigners living in Japan, etc. are a violation of human rights.
