Until May 6, 2020, the State of Emergency Measures were issued for Mie Prefecture (Mieken Kinkyu Jitai Sochi – 三重 県 緊急 事態 措置) to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus (in Japanese only).
On April 22, the following General Emergency Measures Related to the New Coronavirus for Mie Prefecture (Shingata Coronavirus Kansensho ni Kansuru Mieken Kinkyu Sogo Taisaku – 新型コロナウイルス感染症に関する三重県緊急総合対策), was issued. Link available only in Japanese.
Mie Governor left a message for the citizens of the province ahead of the Golden Week holiday. See the contents below.
Avoid leaving home and traveling inside or outside the province unless it is extremely necessary. Especially during the Golden Week holiday, avoid traveling to other provinces. Also ask friends and family who live in other provinces not to come to Mie.
Follow the 10 points outlined by the Infection Expert Government Council (Seifu Kansensho Senmonka Kaigi – 政府感染症専門家会議) below and decrease contact with people
Illegal acts of discrimination, prejudice and violence (ijime) against people infected with the new coronavirus and their family members or those involved, health care providers, people who have returned from other countries, foreigners living in Japan, among others, are a violation of human rights.
Do not spread dubious information and do not practice acts of discrimination and violence. Take action to respect the human rights of all.
