Infection Control Measures Thorough Alert

感染防止行動徹底アラート

2022/07/29 Friday Announcements, Coronavirus

The number of coronavirus cases is increasing dramatically. As of July 21, 2022 (Thursday), Mie Prefecture has reported more than 2,000 cases. The number of people requiring hospitalization is also increasing. The occupancy rate of hospital beds is close to the 40% mark.

If the coronavirus infection continues to rise, the medical infrastructure could be overwhelmed. Mie’s government is working to acquire more beds and stop the pandemic by taking basic prevention measures in nursing homes and other institutions.

To all the residents of Mie

  1. Use opportunities to get vaccinated

Try to take the third dose if you haven’t already, and if you are elderly or at risk, try to take the fourth. Especially if you live with the elderly or plan to return home to your parents, consider getting the vaccine as soon as possible.

  1. Take basic infection preventive measures

Reinforce appropriate infection control measures according to the situation, such as wearing a face mask and disinfecting hands.

Fully implement “mask dinner” (Mask Kaishoku) and “silent meal” (Mokushoku), remove the mask only when eating and drinking, wear a mask when speaking, and do not speak when eating without a mask. Ventilate the room frequently, even when using the air conditioner.

  1. Take measures not to pass the infection on to the elderly and other groups at risk of worsening covid

Wear a face mask when meeting with seniors. If you run into an elderly person you don’t often see when you return to your parents’ house, take steps like getting tested before you leave and avoid meeting up if you’re feeling unwell.

To all entrepreneurs and traders

  1. Take preventive measures within the work environment

Employees must be informed about preventive measures, such as keeping the environment ventilated and wearing face masks.

It is recommended that employees who are in poor physical condition either return home early or visit a medical facility.

The government urges employers to create an environment where employees can easily consult if they are feeling unwell.

  1. Measures in asylums and other institutions

Please reinforce basic infection control measures with employees. Consider using social testing for rapid detection of infected people.
