~To protect yourself from coronavirus reinfection~

The number of cases of the new variant “BA.5” is increasing across the country.  Aichi, Gifu and Mie prefectures are also reporting many new cases.

At this time, opportunities to meet and chat with others increase, as the summer holidays and events such as the “Obon” begin.  So, it is necessary to take even more stringent preventive measures.  If cases rise further, it will be difficult to maintain the medical infrastructure and socioeconomic activities.

To prevent infection, the authorities are asking for the help of all citizens and businesses.

Take the basic preventive measures to “don’t get infected and don’t pass the infection on”

It’s important to wear a face mask, wash and disinfect your hands, keep a safe distance from people, keep your home ventilated and to not go out when you’re not feeling well, in addition to taking proper heatstroke care.

During meal time, wear a face mask when talking (Mask Kaishoku – マスク会食) and as much as possible avoid talking (黙食 – Mokushoku).  Use restaurants approved by provincial governments.

Don’t forget to take preventive measures when traveling or when returning to your parents’ house

If you encounter an elderly person or someone with a chronic illness, wear a face mask and ventilate the room often, even if you are indoors.

Avoid activities with a high risk of infection when you leave the house.

Also consider having a PCR test before leaving home.

Try to take the third and fourth doses of the vaccine

It is hoped that the booster vaccination of the Covid vaccine will prevent the onset and worsening of symptoms.  If you have not yet had the third dose, or if you are ready for the fourth vaccination, consider getting the vaccine.
