Guidelines for Consultation and Examination For the New Coronavirus Infectious Disease

1 – Things to keep in mind before consultation and examination (if you have a flu or other symptoms such as fever, etc.)

  • Do not go to school or work and as much as possible, do not go outside.
  • Take and record your temperature every day.

2 – Guidelines for consultation

  • If you feel weak (malaise), high fever or having a hard time breathing (dyspnea).
  • If you are in the high-risk group (the elderly and those with diseases such as diabetes) and have fever, cough and other mild flu-like symptoms
  • If you have flu symptoms (fever, cough, etc.) that last for more than 4 days
  • If you who have returned from an international trip and is concerned

In addition to wearing a mask when consulting a medical institution, please book a medical appointment in advance, thoroughly wash your hands and mind your coughing etiquette (use a mask, tissue, handkerchief, or sleeve to hold your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing).

 If you are a foreign resident and you fall into one of the categories written above, please consult the MieCo Consultation Support Center for Foreigners (MieCo「みえこ」).

Come visit MieMu “MieMu Waku-Waku♪ Summer” this 2020 summer vacation!

2020年 夏休みはMieMuへ!「MieMu わくわく♪サマー」を開催します

The General Museum of Mie (MieMu) will hold the event “MieMu Waku Waku Summer” during the summer holiday.  Take classes with experts and tutors from the museum and gain experience with crafts and fossil games at this special event (there will be no translators)!

There will also be the special exhibition “War and Mie” (Senso to Mie – 戦争と三重) until August 30 (Sunday), and the thematic exhibition “Where are the whales” (Kujira ha iru ka !? – クジラはいるか!?), Between August 1 (Saturday) and November 29 (Sunday).  Have a fun day at MieMu.

  • Classes and workshops
  1. Make sea turtles with microplastic

Details: Think about how microplastics can impact the lives of sea turtles, and draw a picture of turtles with microplastic collage.

Date: August 1 and 2 (Saturday and Sunday), sessions at 10 am and 1:30 pm (each session will last about 1 hour and 30 minutes)

Target Audience: anyone can participate!  Children who have not yet entered shogakko must be accompanied by their parents.

  1. Woodblock prints (Ukiyo-e Hanga – 浮世絵版画)

Details: Listen to explanations of Tokaido Gojusan Tsuginouchi Shono’s “ukiyo-e” prints (東海道五十三次 「庄 野」) and make some prints.

Date: August 15 (Saturday), sessions at 10am and 1:30 pm (each session will last about 1 hour)

Target audience: from shogakko students and older

  1. Make bird molds

Details: Learn the difference between the shape and length of the birds’ wings and build molds of flying birds.

Date: August 11 (Saturday), sessions at 10am and 1:30 pm (each session will last about 1 hour)

Target audience: from shogakko students and older

  1. Make transparent soaps and finish off the coronavirus

Details: Learn about the secrets of a soap, which is very effective in preventing coronavirus, and make your own soap.

Date: August 22 (Saturday), sessions at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm (each session will last about 1 hour)

Target audience: anyone can participate!  Children who have not yet entered the shogakko must be accompanied by their parents.

  1. Make whale molds

Details: Learn about the function of the whale whiskers and what they eat, and build whale molds.

Date: August 23 (Sunday), sessions at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm (each session will last about 1 hour)

Target audience: anyone can participate!  Children who have not yet entered the shogakko must be accompanied by their parents.

Each session of the items mentioned above has a maximum capacity of 12 people, and the participation fee is free.  Registration by clicking here (in Japanese only).

  • Break lumps of minerals and gain fossils

Details: Remove trilobite fossils from nodules (piece of stone).  Participants will be able to take the trilobites home!

July 26 (Sunday), sessions at 11am, 12pm, 3pm (each session will last about 30 minutes)

August 9 (Sunday), sessions at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm (each session will last about 30 minutes)

August 16 (Sunday), sessions at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm (each session will last about 30 minutes)

Target audience: anyone can participate!  Children who have not yet entered the shogakko must be accompanied by their parents.

Capacity: 10 persons each session
