Time spent indoors are increasing due to the coronavirus pandemic.  This is an event that can make your spending time indoors more fun, with more relevance and to get to know more about Mie Prefecture’s products.

Mie’s product cooking classes and a tour at Mie’s food processing factories will be divided into 4 online classes via Zoom.  Participate in your home kitchen online for free.

The theme of the first class is Mie’s brand “Isse-cha”

* The organization asks participants to prepare their Internet connection and computers, tablets, etc.

* The main ingredient (Isse-cha) will be distributed free of charge to participants.  However, participants must prepare the other ingredients and utensils needed for the cooking classes.

  1. Contents

This is an event to learn, drink, cook, eat and experience the beauties of Isse-cha.

1 Learn: Take an online visit to the Shinryoku Sabo (深緑茶房), Matsusaka-shi Iinancho network, and see how tea is harvested, processed and baked.

2 Drinking: Learn how to make a delicious cup of tea

3 Cooking and Eating: Cooking Tea Recipes with Cooking Teachers

Mie Prefecture is looking for companies and organizations to participate in the “Mie Prefecture Food Provision System” (commonly known as “Mie-ru”)

「三重県食品提供システム」(通称「みえ~る」)の参加企業・団体を募集します

Mie Prefecture has developed the “Mie Prefecture Food Provision System” (Mie-ken Shokuhin Teikyo System – 三重県食品提供システム), also known as “Mieru” (みえ~る), for food supply and easy communication between companies and food bank organizations.

The goal is to help people in need through food bank activities and reduce food waste. The prefecture is looking for companies and organizations to participate as suppliers and recipients of the food products.

Food bank activities refers to the non-profit activities by providing food that would otherwise be discarded to people in need.

1 – What is Mieru

  1. Sharing information about food supply (entering food data by suppliers, viewing and selecting recipients)
  2. Establishing the connection (matching)
  3. Mutual contact about receiving forms and other information
  4. Sharing the food distribution situation (insertion by recipients, checking by suppliers)

  1. Application Method
    Application requests will be made through Mieru’s homepage (https://www.miefood.jp/). After Mie government approves, it will be possible to use the service (available via computers, tablets and smartphones).

  • Supplier

Food companies and organizations (food production companies, retail stores, wholesale stores), disaster food stock ownership organizations and companies.

  • Recipients

Food bank organizations, children’s canteens, social welfare associations, etc. (organizations that provide food to people in need in Mie).

  • Individuals will not be accepted to be suppliers or recipients.
