【重要】三重県新型コロナウイルス緊急警戒宣言(2021年1月14日)

The government issued a state of emergency for Tokyo, Kansai, Aichi, Gifu and other regions due to the sudden increase in coronavirus cases mainly in large centers.

Due to the severity of the situation, Mie Prefecture has intensified Mie Prefecture ver.8 guidelines (in Japanese only) and issued the “New Coronavirus Emergency Status in Mie” to protect everyone’s health and life  the citizens.

The state of emergency period will last until February 7, 2021. See the request from the authorities below.

1 – To all the citizens of Mie

  1. Preventive measures
  • Avoid going to restaurants, clubs, karaoke and other establishments even with family members due to the risk of infection.
  • When leaving the province to go to work or attend schools, avoid crowds and busy times in restaurants and others places.
  • There are cases where young people pass the coronavirus to family and friends without showing symptoms. Try to take all necessary preventive measures.
  1. Social isolation
  • The Mie government asks all citizens of Mie to avoid going to other provinces, including regions in a state of emergency and with reduced office hours, except in cases of extreme need.

2 – To all Non-residents of Mie

  • Mie’s government asks all citizens residing in other provinces, including regions in a state of emergency and with reduced office hours, to come to Mie only in cases of dire need.
  • The authorities ask everyone to check the guidelines of the place where they live before leaving home, and to think carefully if it is really necessary to prevent the spread of the virus.

3 – Respect for human rights

Illegal acts of discrimination, prejudice and violence (ijime) against people from other provinces who came to Mie to work or study, health care providers and their families, foreigners living in Japan, among other citizens, are a violation of human rights.

Avoid acts of prejudice, discrimination, violation of human rights, abuse and violence against others.
