In Mie Prefecture there is a high percentage of foreign citizens, and the permanent residence is increasing. The cases in which foreign residents are victims of problems related to consumer have increased. In order to foreign citizens live safely and at easy, a seminar will be held in regions where there is a high concentration of foreign residents to provide the necessary support.

  1. Date and time: 2016, 29th October (Saturday) – from 1:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m (reception from 1 p.m)

  3. Subject: Protect yourself against problems related to contract!
    – Lecturer: Staff from Mie-ken Kankyo Seikatsu-bu Kurashi KotsuAnzen-ka Shohi Seikatsu Center
    – Seminar content:
  • Explanation on consumer damage prevention through multilingual brochures
  • Presentation of real cases through video
  • Practice on how to fill in the Cooling-off card
  • Simulation on how to avoid problems related to contract
  • Question and answer session

There will be translation in Portuguese, Spanish, Filipino, English and Chinese

Special class by MieMu’s director for foreign children

三重県総合博物館の魅力を三重県在住の外国籍児童に知ってもらう

image1Mr. Ohno, the Director of MieMu (Mie Prefectural Museum), a prominent researcher of paleontology, held a lecture for students at Escola Alegria de Saber in the city of Suzuka.

The students could experience a practical class about “Trilobitas”, an animal extinct before dinosaurs. For a better comprehension by students, Mr. Ohno brought real fossils to help in the explanations.

With curiosity and attention, children touched and analyzed the fossils of Trilobitas.

“Children have a great potential for discoveries, but in ordinary schools they only learn what is taught in class. Observe, think, change ideas in group and recognize, all this is connected to new discoveries. Opportunities for learn like these ones are few, therefore we have decided to begin this project”.

MieMu is a modern museum, offering important information and interesting exhibitions to visitors.

“Through the exhibitions, people visiting MieMu will be able to explore the history, culture and nature of Mie Prefecture. On weekends, lectures and workshops on several subjects will be held. Joining these activities, visitors will have the chance to learn more about Mie Prefecture, in addition to learn more about science in a fun way. I invite everyone to visit the museum”.

Activities like the ones held today are important to children become interested in nature and science, through culture and history. Opportunities to join a lecture held by a noted paleontologist and touch real fossils are not so accessible and both students and teachers were satisfied.

“Children always learn with classes, and by seeking a different experience we got in touch with the head office of Mie government to hold today’s lecture”.

Children from the Brazilian school were very satisfied with this experience. A unique opportunity to touch a real fossil with hands and learn a little on paleontology. For sure it was an unforgettable experience.

“I found interesting because the lecturer is the director of a museum we have already been and he knows very much about paleontology. They brought the real fossils of Trilobitas, and I think it should have more because we can learn more about the living creatures that lived in our planet before we exist”.

“We will think together and strive to break the obstacle on the language, therefore we count on the collaboration of all. When you find difficult to understand what you see, please, let us know and we will add more information about this, since MieMu is a result of mutual work, for this reason it will not be only in Japanese, but also in Portuguese, Spanish, English, Chinese, Korean  to be a museum where everyone can enjoy”.

Besides the great area of the permanent exhibition, MieMu offers temporary exhibitions on several subjects. So, there are always new things for the visitors in the museum. In this year summer vacation, the exhibition on dinosaurs called “Mie Prefecture more than 300 million years ago and the animals who survived to cataclysm on the planet”, will be displayed until 2016, 4 September.

“There are other interesting attractions that clearly explains itself, for this reason it is interesting to begin your visit from this area, and as we have specialized staff, visitors can make questions even in English that the staff will try to answer them. Chinese visitors will find easy due to the ideograms, but some explanations can be understood through gestures. Come to visit the museum because to have fun is the most important”.

After the exhibition on dinosaurs, the next one will be “The NINJA- what is ninja?”, scheduled to the period of 2016, 2501 October to 2017, 9 January within MieMu complex. Along with the point of view of modern science, this exhibition will be easy to understand and the techniques, physical abilities and wisdom will be explored.

Visitors will learn a little on the ninja wisdom that can be used on the next day! Perhaps you can also become a ninja! Admission will be free for students below high school age. Don’t miss this opportunity and make us a visit!
