“ASMILE”, Mie Prefecture Animal Adoption Center is opened

2017/07/10 Monday Seminars and Events

三重県動物愛護推進センター「あすまいる」がオープンしました

The Mie Prefecture Animal Adoption Center in Mie Prefecture, called “ASMILE”, aiming “a society where humans  and animals can live together safely and comfortably”, was opened in May 28th (Sunday).

ASMILE is the combination of the words “animal” and “smile” conveying the message of spreading smiles for all humans and animals.  The “ASMILE” carries out the adoption of  dogs and cats that have been abandoned by their owners for several reasons and counseling related to the development and formation of systems for animal rescue in case of natural disasters.

During the last fiscal year about 600 dogs and cats have been adopted in Mie Prefecture, therefore, unfortunately, some lives could not be saved. The organization aims to suppress the number  of dogs and cats put down in Mie Prefecture until the year 2023.

Visit “ASMILE” to find dogs and cats waiting for new owners!
