In Mie Prefecture the strategic plan aiming the “Strenghtening of Mie’s Citizen” expresses the basic principles and the course of our government. We are commited in several projects to make a reality the ideal of “make Mie the happiest prefecture in Japan through the power of our population”.
Within this project, assure the safety and tranquility of people’s life is one of the main prerequisites for the “Happiest prefecture in Japan”.
Therefore, as new systems are gradually being implemented, as the electricity and natural gas market deregulation , the means surrounding us have been changing constantly, and with these changes new issues also emerge for the consumer.
In order to deal adequately with this type of situation, the ” Protection of Consumer Rights” has been discussed on the “2nd Action Plan of the new policy “Strengthening of Mie’s Citizen”.
We count on the collaboration from consumer groups, business organizations, local population, municipal governments, among others. With this new policy, along with all Mie’s citizens, we hope everyone acquires proper knowledge about consumer rights and, with autonomy and rationality, can avoid contractual problems and other inconveniences. Thus the consumer can understand the importance of products and services toward the development of a fair and sustainable society.
As the role of the prefecture’s government, we are concentrating in counseling measures to protect the consumer rights. With the support from several organizations, we are committed to promote consumer’s education and enlightenment, as well as orientation to businesses.
There are sectors for inquiries about consumer rights at prefecture government facilities and at municipalities’ city offices.
The number “188 (Iyaya) – Consumers’ Hotline” is connected to your nearest site for inquiry. In case of problems on contracts or purchases, do not hesitate, make an inquiry to have more information.
