This workshop was given the name “Element Present” to convey the desire to be a necessary component or “element” of the current age. The studio has two locations, Shima City in Mie Prefecture and the Setagaya Ward of Tokyo, where individuals with Down Syndrome create drawings, paintings, copper etchings and sculptures. This exhibition is an opportunity for guests to experience the incredible sensibility of artists with Down Syndrome, and learn more about the Element Present studio, which has garnered praise from across the country.
