Nagashima Spa Land Countdown & New Year’s Party

It is the biggest countdown event in Tokai area. Countdown live by popular artists, all-you-can-ride attractions, you can also enter the hot springs! There are also fireworks to celebrate the New Year.

Takada Honzan Senshuuji Houonku (Oshichiya)

The Takada Honzan Senshuuji was designated as a national treasure in 2017, you can reach the Joya no Kane or the New Year’s Night Bell on New Year’s Eve (December 31) (There is a limit on number of people). In “Oshichiya” on January 9th – 16th, the Vol. 7 of “Hoke-kyo Sutra” (the Lotus Sutra) is chanted, and the stalls are lined up in the surrounding Jinai-cho where a lot of people gathers.

Mokumoku no Oshougatsu

There are plenty of events, including drawing of ema (votive picture tablet of a horse), rice cake making, rice cake wrapping, and spinning top battle championship! There is also a performance of Japanese traditional arts / Japanese drums and a mini-pig show

Bell farm no Tanoshii Oshougatsu

Traditional Japanese play events such as flying kites (only for 2 days, will be cancelled in the event of snow / strong wind), Kendama, spinning top, also there are activities such as cake making experience (charged) where elementary school children or less can participate. They will also sell Matsusaka beef gourmet.

Ise Jingu Hatsumairi Park and Bus Ride Traffic Regulation

Congestion is predicted around the Ise Jingu around New Year’s holidays. As a countermeasure against traffic congestion, we set up a temporary parking lot around the Ken’ei San Arena, and we will operate the shuttle bus to the Ise Shrine gateway inner parking lot. Because time will change depending on the day, please be careful.

Nenmatsu kii Nagashima Minato Ichi

Approximately 80 booths will open, that sells cheap and fresh seafood and special products of Kihoku-cho. There is also a free booth where you can bake and buy what you bought on the spot. Daily event such as tuna filleting  show will be held.

Toba WanAgo Wan Hatsuhi no de Cruise

With a special cruise to enjoy sunrise over the ocean, you can take pictures of New Year’s beautiful sea. Miki sake will also be served.

Illumination, which is a wonderful feature during winter, is held in various parts of the prefecture. Why not go out and see the unique, and beautiful winter illumination.

Nabana no Sato (なばなの里)

It is the illumination which celebrates it’s 15th showcase in 2018. The theme for this year is “the scene of Japan”. Do not miss this dominating illuminations boasting the country’s largest illumination scale.

 Suwa Koen (すわ公園)

At Suwa Koen near Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station, the “Suwa Koen Kara no Hikari no Okurimono (A gift of light from Suwa Park)” will be displayed where you can enjoy the 50,000 bulbs illumination. Special candle events will be held on December 23rd.

Menard Aoyama Resort (メナード青山リゾート)

You can see magnificent winter illumination created with 250,000 lights bulbs. You can see various productions according to music every hour.

Geino X’mas 2018

With illuminations done by citizen volunteers, you can see the largest PET bottle tree in Japan, objects of various lights and exhibits. Dance performances and fireworks are also held at the special event on December 23rd.

Winter Illumination ~Yukiusagi to Hikari no Mori~ (ウィンターイルミネーション~雪うさぎとひかりの森~)

The event hall of Mie Kodomo no Shiro turns into a big light-up forest. Cute little rabbit families are waiting for everyone.

Hikari no Saiten in Kiho (光の祭典in紀宝)

A winterland in Kiho-cho where about 200,000 lights shine. Trees with height of 20m, tunnel of light, objects of hearts are the highlights. The special event “Kirafesu” will be held on December 22nd. (23 in rainy weather)
