Let’s collaborate to save electric energy this winter

Due to the stiff evasion of the power of demand and supply, as of summer 2011, Mie Prefecture has requested the collaboration of all citizens and businesses with regard to reducing energy consumption and electric energy saving. The government of Mie has requested the collaboration regarding the follow-up of save and redution of eletric energy consumption this winter to all the citizens and businesses can execute it in an accessible way.

For families with small children and elderly we request firstly the attention to the health to this collaboration do not cause any damage.

<Examples>

  • Switch off electrical appliances
    Keeping the electrical appliances switched off will reduce electric energy consumption.
  • Use the air conditioning system to save!
    By switching the air conditioning on heat mode, keep the temperature at 20 degrees Celsius.
  • Save on watching television!
    Switch off the main source of electric energy.
    Listen to it in a reasonable volume
  • Saving electric energy when using the fridge!
    Keep the temperature as below as possible.
    Let the food cool down completely before place it in the fridge.
    Avoid open it unnecessarily

Hang out with family or in a group of friends, going to public and cultural facilities will help to reduce the use of heaters at home. Thus enjoying a moment of leisure and at the same time saving energy! Therefore, enjoy and make use of these facilities.

Year-end/ New Year Special Patrol Measures

年末・年始特別警戒取締り期間について

Mie Prefectural Police will carry out a period of special patrol in Year-end/New Year during 41 days, between December 1, 2016 to January 10, 2017. In this period, police patrol will be intensified, based on the following issues. We count on the collaboration of all.

  1. Crime prevention on establishments operating early morning such as restaurants, convenience stores, banks and other locations managing high amount in cash.
  2. House intrusion prevention and crimes involving women and children.
  3. Reduction of fatalities caused by traffic accidents.

In order to protect yourself against crimes and spend a peaceful Year-end/ New Year, it is needed to follow the 3 main measures below:

  • Prevention against house intrusion
    – Keep the doors locked when go to sleep or when leave home.
    – Install extra locks on windows and doors.
  • Prevention on vehicles break-in
    – When get off your car always lock the doors.
    – Never leave valuables inside your car.
  • Damage prevention involving specified frauds
    – One of the most common scam is the one in which thieves pretend to be sons or grandsons saying they “have lost a check from the company” or “got a married woman pregnant”, and ask for high amount in cash.
    – Other scam is when they pretend to be employees from city hall, saying “there is a refund of medical treatment” and force the victims to deposit high amount in cash through ATMs.
    ★ These kind of calls are scams! Be careful for not be mislead.

When witnessing a crime or accident, and there is a need of police presence as soon as possible, call “110” for emergency service.

In other cases of crime or accident with no urgency, call “#9110”.
